John Grant

John is a partner at MIDAS Aviation, providing marketing intelligence, data and strategic advice to the industry. He was formerly Executive Vice President at OAG, the world’s leading aviation data supplier, and prior to that was Managing Director of a UK based aviation consultancy that was twice voted the UK’s best aviation practice by the UK Airport Operators Association. John continues to work with OAG on major consultancy projects and provides industry support and strategic advice to OAG management. A regular speaker at industry events such as World Routes, PATA Conferences and ACI events, John is also an industry advisor to the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) and regular appears on business channels such as BBC World News, CNN and Bloomberg. John also has regularly acted as a guest lecturer and regularly delivers training courses and interactive workshops to clients all round the world. In his successful consultancy career John has worked around the globe on major strategic projects including Malaysia Airports as a retained consultant for more than ten years, Lima Airport Peru, Amsterdam Schiphol, Perth Western Australia and for Frankfurt Airport on their overseas investment assets.

René Armas Maes

René began his career as a Senior Analyst at Simat, Helliesen & Eichner based in New York City where he consulted global airlines, regional carriers, ULCC operators, airports, tourism boards and Fortune 500 corporate aviation clients. His expertise areas include commercial strategy, business restructuring, strategic planning, cost reduction, and revenue growth. In addition, René is an airline, airport and hospitality industry instructor. He has developed and taught air transportation courses on behalf of IATA and Airport Council International including Airline leading practices, route forecasting, cost containment strategies, strategic planning, air connectivity and financial management. Moreover, he is a regular guest speaker at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University both US and Asia campuses.

Becca Rowland

Rebecca is a Partner at MIDAS Aviation, a specialist aviation consultancy and part of AviaDev Consult. She works particularly with airports and their stakeholders to understand what the future holds and to make it happen. Projects include air service development, market analysis, traffic forecasting, strategy and performance benchmarking. Rebecca is highly numerate and articulate and has spent 30 years working in and with companies across the air transport sector, providing analysis and strategic thinking. Before moving into consultancy, Rebecca worked at two US airlines, Vancouver Airport and for IATA. She writes extensively on current trends in aviation and has also been instrumental in the creation of several industry benchmarking studies including the IATA Airport Monitor (now known as Airport Service Quality - ASQ and run by ACI), the OAG Punctuality League and OAG Megahubs Index. Rebecca has an MBA from City University in London and a BSc in Physics. Rebecca also regularly delivers workshops and training sessions for clients and at industry events, and has a regular guest lecturer slot sharing industry insights, tools and techniques to undergraduate air transport students at a UK university.
